Eliminating all home health hazards that result in lead poisoning, asthma and other health problems is our goal at CLEARCorps. In order to do this work, we engage with a wide variety of people and organizations who share our interest in home health safety. We partner with both local organizations and national organizations in a wide array of ways. Two examples of the partnerships CLEARCorps has at the national level are Rebuilding Together, http://www.rebuildingtogether.org, and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, known as HIPPY, http://www.hippyusa.org. Our partnerships allow both CLEARCorps and our partnering organization to dramatically increase our impact and effectiveness. In our partnership with Rebuilding Together we have created materials for the Rebuilding Together teams to use to ensure that Lead Safe Work Practices are followed at all their job sites.

With HIPPY, CLEARCorps provides lead education and lead remediation activities for HIPPY parents in Oregon, Nevada, California and Hawaii. CLEARCorps provides training with HIPPY state directors, coordinators and home visitors from each of these states. CLEARCorps has prepared for HIPPY a power point presentation, fact sheets, a parent brochure, a home visual inspection for lead hazards form and a list of local and state resources for parents. HIPPY home visitors use this information in their work with families in their homes. The goal is to educate nearly 2000 parents on the risks lead hazards present to children and families while giving them the information and support to take action on their own behalf. In addition, we anticipate inviting all twenty-five states where HIPPY is located to launch the project in their respective states over the next year.
